In 1995 director Michael Mann released the cinema classic HEAT.

With the passing of Val Kilmer there has been much homage paid to him and his role in the movie.  We had this concept for a few years but kept it on the back burner until we got the design to our liking.

Why was HEAT such a great movie? There were several scenes which are considered classics by many.

One scene featured LAPD Detective Vincent Hannah and Neil McCauley sitting opposite one another in a diner late at night.

Another scene, the shoot out in downtown Los Angeles which featured gunplay that has stood the test of time.

Lastly, the opening scene, an armored car robbery, set the tone for the entire movie. 

While these scenes are difficult for most of America to relate to, the large majority of "our community" feels some form of connection. 

One theory as to why so many people resonate with these scenes is due to the unprecedented supporting cast which included Jon Voight, Tom Sizemore, Danny Trejo, Ashley Judd, Natalie Portman,  Hank Azaria, Henry Rollins, and last but not least Val Kilmer. 

This shirt pays homage to Val's character, Chris Shiherlis, when he purchases the "energetics" for the opening heist in the movie.
